COFFEE TABLE BOOKS

My living room re-decoration is going by spine tingling-ly slow, but progress is being made. It's like a happy little surprise every evening when I walk into my house. The rug has been (finally) decided upon, the coffee table has been set up, by your's truly, and paint colors are in the works. It's really almost everything, except for the chairs. Those won't be residing in my house for several more months. Bring in the hard wood dining chairs (sorry visitors!).

My next project is hanging my atlas tapestry. I have an odd phobia about picking things out to hang on the walls, nothing's really ever good enough, or grown up enough. Justin Bieber poster? Vetoed by j.rue. When I came across this tapestry, I thought, decorating a whole wall in one fell swoop? Sign me up! Then I shuddered at the thought of convincing j.rue that we actually needed a floor to ceiling wall hanging of the whole wide word. Well, my husband never ceases to amaze me. He was probably more excited about it then I was. I decided that I would attempt to hang it up along a few weeks ago, with thumb tacks. Is there any better way? (legitimate question, is there really a better way?) I got about 1 foot in a quit. I had a purple thumb, a scratch across the cheek from a falling tack, and to top it off I had to remove said tack from Coop's very strong and resistant puppy jaw. So, we have a half hanging atlas across our wall. If you drive past my house slowly, you can totally see it hanging there in it's wrinkled lopsided glory. This week! It's going up! Maybe even tonight.

But really, the point of this post is to talk about coffee table books and the purpose they would serve on my delightful $19 coffee table (so proud of that). At the moment I have no littles wreaking havoc around my house, but I like to think of myself as a planner. I'm thinking that a book would be much safer than 5 glass vases. A book with color, colors galore.

I found most of these at Anthro, but a tip, save yourself $5-$20 and buy from Amazon. I'm a little in love with all of them, a lot in love with #1. I just find it dreamy. I really actually want all of them, but that would just silly...right?

Have you seen other pretty coffee table books I should know about?
