Snail Mail

Do you know what I love about summer? I love when your walking outside early in the morning, when it's still cool and there's a slight breeze. I love to smell the beginnings of summer. It's interesting how smells can take you back to such a specific moment. It's even more interesting how all of the emotions come back with it. Morning breezes always take me back to my freshman year of college. I can remember how nervous and excited I was all at the same time. I know it's not the same time of year, but the mornings are quite similar.

Another smell that takes me back is Clairol Herbal Essences rose scented shampoo and conditioner. It reminds me of the summer before 5th grade, when I was taking swimming lessons -- it's also when I decided that I was in love with j.rue.

Speaking of things I love love love: getting things in the mail. When I was little, I fondly called the brown UPS truck the present truck and I always left a Christmas present for the mail man {still do}. I was in trouble from day one.

I got a few fun surprises last week, and boy oh boy did I need them. I was on the verge of a mental break-down for about 5 days straight. That can't be healthy.

On Monday I got a friendship bracelet that I won from Alexandra Jade, an adorable shop on Etsy. What better to lighten your week than a deliciously cute springy bracelet...that was free?? There is a black and gold chevron bracelet that I'm crushing hard on right now.

Tuesday my birchbox finally got to me.  For some reason they decided that a dark brownish mauveish lip gloss would look good on me. in the spring. what? I looked like a vampire, and I'm not into those sort of things. I was definitely under-whelmed with this one so I won't elaborate more than it.

Wednesday I finally got my hands on those beloved SaltWaters. They were a little stiff at first, but I wore them in the shower and they molded right to my feet. I don't think I've taken them off since. Heavenly I tell you.

...and Friday's was an actual surprise. Oh, I love when this little card come to my house.

J.rue please notice that 3 of the 4 deliveries cost nothing. No need to start hyperventilating. Love you!
