BECAUSE SOMETIMES I CAN BLOG MORE THAN ONCE A WEEK

Just don't get used to the idea because, really. Just really. Oh and here are also some random pictures:

Actually, I kind of miss blogging more than once a week, but then I think NO! I can't talk about that because then I'll have nothing to talk about in my weekly pregnancy updated, because, you know, it's pretty much taken over my life. But I think that's allowed right? It doesn't mean it makes for a fun read, but it makes for a fun write.

Still, it's Friday the 13th so things are bound to get a little whacky, right? Avoid sidewalk cracks, and really just any crack in general.

Two nights ago I had an epiphany that I should change Ellie's name to Harper, like a super strong epiphany. J.rue shut me down hard and fast. It's okay, I'll just save it for the next one, if we have a next one. So, if you're related or close to me feel free to use to name, just know that I'll be using it too if given the opportunity. Same names are fun though, right? I loved sharing a name. Speaking of names, I always refer to the babe on here as Ellie, but did you know that her actual real life name is going to be Eleanor? It is, and most people hate it. Do you know what I hate? That they can't hide it enough until after I've left the conversation. Really, people just LIE! I'm hormonal and about to name my first person. Lie.

J.rue and I went to a breastfeeding course last night, and I loved it. At first, I really just did it because I've been told time and time again that breastfeeding is the pitts, but also completely necessary. Now I'm all empowered and such and can't wait. J.rue didn't mind it too much either and I always love to have him there for support. And boy oh boy and I going to need his support for the first while. I'm glad he'll be able to be my boob coach, I really wouldn't have it any other way.

Most of the class was a nice review but I did learn that if a baby has NOTHING but breast milk exclusively (even water) for the first 6 months, their stomachs will develop a Teflon like surface in their stomachs and most viruses and illness inducing stuff will just come right out. If they're given other things then that surface still develops, it just has holes in it. So, sorry first child, I've officially identified my first soapbox, nothing but breast milk until we're through 6 months. Won't it be fun to watch my soapboxes crumble beneath my feet as things don't go exactly my way? I'll still be trying though, so watch it!

I'm trying to think of non-baby things to write about because I really hated it when people only talked about baby things. Now, I'm starting to realize why they did. It's literally all you think about. Literally. So I'm pretty sure I can sum up the rest of my life in a nutshell: I'm still working and it's still fun. I still love my husband. It's football season so my husband loves life a little more. Maggie and Coop are still with us. We grew some peaches and they were delicious except that I was so wrapped up in baby stuff that we basically picked 10. Our carpets are getting cleaned tomorrow (but that's only because we have a baby coming). Annnd oh, I'm just not getting the fall fever like everyone else it. Hm...I wonder why?

NOW! I'm off to a doctors appointments. You know, the ones that are not super fun. Strep tests, weight checks, and actual checks. Oi.

Also this weekend, I'm hoping j.rue watches a lot of football so I can do a lot of nothing. I'm pooped you guys, right up to my hairline, just plain pooped. I could sleep for hours and hours and hours and hours. Pooped.

TUESDAY TALKINGS

The first night I found out I was pregnant I started a journal for little rue. I thought I was so on top of it, I had the red leather journal with the embossed heart and I just thought it would be perfect. Well, if things keep going the way they are I'm pretty sure that journal could be used for every pregnancy I have. My goal was to write once a week, but then it just didn't really happen. Maybe that's why I feel like I need to write every sordid detail of my life on here. Sorry about that.

We, over at Ruesch Manor, have an exciting 2 weeks ahead of us. Today, my MIL and SIL are flying in today from Hawaii, my FIL flies in on Saturday, that same SIL gives her farewell talk on Sunday (plus it's mothering day), Sister SIL will then we taken to the MTC on Wednesday, MIL & FIL fly out on Friday, and one of my favorite cousins and her family drive in Friday afternoon for the weekend. Of course there will be lots of food eating and family jaunts in between all of that. Are you still with me? Basically it's going to be pure chaos, but we couldn't be more excited.

Speaking of food eating I heard on the radio today that if a person post pictures of their food on instagram rather than the people you're with, it should be assumed that said person has an eating disorder. Either they are obsessed with food or don't eat enough or something? I'm thinking I fall in the obsessed with food category. What can ya do?

My dumb poll isn't working. Yesterday it was, but the internet is trying to take all of my joy away I suppose. It looked like we were neck in neck for results. There are still some girl believers out there. On Thursday we'll be putting some old wives tales to the test. They're actually quite mixed, so we'll have to see what happens!

Yesterday, I spent the majority of the evening cleaning out my car. I'll just admit it right now, I'm a clean person, but I'm a clean person that has to work hard to be a clean person, you know? So, my car got a good scrubbing, my small spoons were put in their rightful silverware drawer (I had 5 little spoons floating around in my car! 5!) and my sun visor was screwed back in. Did I ever mention that for about 4 months my sun visor was hanging by a single screw and didn't hold itself up properly? J.rue kept bugging me to fix it. I didn't. Surprise! Have I also ever mentioned that the sun visor actually fell off when j.rue was driving in my car? Did I also ever mention that he was so mad at me while this happened that I was sure his eyeballs were going to pop out of his head? Not because of the visor coming off mind you. Just bad timing on the sun visors part. I also laughed when it happened, which made it worse. Also, sometimes I'm a bad wife. Good story, right? I bet you're glad you've made it this far. Oh, and I'm not done.

J.rue came home last night and said (and I quote), "I have a wacky idea!" Usually, this is never a good thing. Last night's did not disappoint. J.rue wanted to go and see Iron Man 3. bad. My first instinct was to laugh in his face, but I'm not a bad wife all the time. So, deals we struck up and we were off to see the 9:05 PM showing. Did you know that all of the 9:00 PMish showings of Iron Man 3 were in 3D in our nearest 5 theaters? They were. I got nauseated because of it and missed the best part (the end). But no one can say I'm a bad wife all the time. no one! Also, I just need to avoid movies for a while. I would like to say that spending the time with j.rue was nice, it just doesn't happen much during the week.

Today, I forgot to put on deodorant and take my allergy medication.

I'll be visiting Smith's Marketplace during my lunch.

Okay, I actually do think I'm done now. Mundane life details? Check. See you tomorrow folks!

I'M SORRY TO DO THIS TO YOU

...but I just have to post these videos. I know it's kind of annoying when people post gobs of youtube in their writing space (at least I think so), but I can't help myself.

p.s. I've updated my contact page, so if you ever want to have a chat OR trade blog buttons, drop me a line. I love making new friends.

Enjoy...

I don't know which one I prefer more. That would be like asking me to pick a favorite child. They're both special(ly) hilarious in their own ways.

Happy Weekending!

A POST ABOUT NOT A LOT

Have you ever just wanted to write a blog post, but didn't really quite have anything to write about? That's kind of how I'm feeling today, but as I look over my past year of blogging, I don't really think I did it enough. There are weird gaps and things that will be forgotten that I don't really think should be. So I'm just going to write a little. Let's see what I come up with...

This is us at Cheesecake Factory last night. Jeremy looks like someone just said something surprisingly awkward...or like I just farted on him...and I, well let's just say that dark restaurants and bright flashes are not complimentary of my pasty exterior. If I could have 3 wishes from a genie the first would have to be a good singing voice, I don't know who I would exactly want to sound like, I'm still working on that part. Maybe Mindy Gledhill or the girl from Civil Wars. Something light and dreamy. Second, I would wish to look good in every picture. I have a gift of being in all the wrong angles (wrong leg popped, droopy lip, you get the idea). The third...I haven't decided yet. Thinking of your 3 wishes is very serious business and should never be taken lightly.

Sometimes when I'm driving home I think about my 3 constant wishes. Ever since I was about 10 I've dreamed of having a star worthy vocal chords, so I just figured that one made the cut. The pictures thing is fairly new. I'll let you know in 10 years if it had what it took to stick around.

I've decided that Jeremy and I eat at Cheesecake Factory just enough, but not enough you know? When we're together we get to some serious scheming and this is our latest...We're thinking that we should go to Cheesecake Factory at least every six weeks. When there, split the Chicken Costaletta (the most divine dish) and finish up with a slice of cheesecake and a shake. Meaning, the cheesecake is mostly for me and the shake for him, with a few bites in between shared.

After dinner last night we spend the rest of the evening running to my mom's and his mom's, movies needed to be exchanged before final packing was done. We walked into my in-laws and their house was empty, meaning a lot empty. It's definitely surreal having their house packed up and only a week left of their company. I think it really hit me Monday. I had a little cry fest on the way home. It's going to be hard and different, and well, I suck at changes. So, not to dwell on the sad, when we were over there sitting all together in the empty family room, the infamous Brookie Jayde took it upon herself to provide the entertainment. She was babbling, and running, and spinning, and tumbling around like she owns the place. I hope as she gets older and the world gets to her that she can keep her strong willed spunk and enthusiasm. Oh we love that girl.

I was looking through my phone, camera, and ipad last night and realized that about a good 70% of my pictures are of her. Between her momma and everyone else who loves her, this girl is going to live a well documented life. Here's a few other from over the past year that I just love:

Oh! I love her.

And looky what we have here my friends, a blog post, pulled out of nothingness.

Happy Thursday. It's a Thursday-Friday for me so I love it that much more. Be safe driving in the snow tonight, it's supposed to come with an angry wrath upon the freeways at about 4 pm.

Dear Madewell,

Please come to Utah. Now.
Sincerely, a concerned citizen

Monday night, j.rue and I had a 8.5 minute picnic in the backyard. Earlier that day, we had braved the crowds at wal-mart, put the groceries away, cleaned the kitchen and grilled the burgers, with a little puppy lovin' mixed in. I think j.rue was tired. Of course, I still insisted that we needed to eat outside. So, I grabbed a blanket laid it out, then j.rue fixed it. That boys hates wrinkley blankets. Diva. And then we ate our very well balanced meal of turkey burgers and sunny-d. 8.5 minutes, of almost silence, later I leaned over and said "wanna go inside?" And he said yes. Are you following all of this importantness here?

So, we went inside. j.rue read or did something scholarly and I exercised. That was that. You know when you're in the early stages of dating and you're in the car and there'es that inevitable awkward silence? And then you feel a panic overwhelm your brain, and because of this panic cutting off the oxygen to your thinker you spout probably the dumbest string of words you've ever uttered in your life. All that in an effort to avoid the awkwardness that you actually just created? I'm so glad that I have a permanent boyfriend now. Silence is golden.

J.rue, you may never die, if not only for the fact that there is no way that I could ever handle dating. ever.again. I'm just too awkward. I think you are just immune to it now, or you tune me out. I think actually you tune me out. I'm a lot to listen to.

And we really do need a Madewell in Utah.  I'm starting a petition. It will be posted shortly.

That's all I have for you today. How's that for a ground breaking, insanely entertaining, thought provoking post, emotionally charged post? Don't worry, there's more where that came from.

aannnnd It's Wednesday. Give me a break.
